Victims of an declared scam perpetrated by a Lagos-based forex training and majuscule investment company, MBA Capital and Trading Express Wednesday protested against an declared scam perpetrated past the visitor.
The demonstrators stormed the headquarters of the Economical and Financial Crimes Committee (EFCC) in Abuja to demand the arrest and prosecution of the company's Main Executive Officer, Maxwell Odum.
The protesters alleged that they were defrauded of a whopping sum of N122,510,000 in a scheme promoted by the house with a promise that they would exist getting a 15 pct return on investment every month.
The company has since reneged on its hope in the payment of dividends, according to the protesters.
The protesters in their numbers displayed placards calling on the commission to intervene in their plight by arresting and prosecuting Odum.
Chairman, Victims of MBA Forex Fraud, Christian Agadaga said, "We did not invest in a Ponzi scheme, we invested in forex and forex is a legitimate business all over the world. We invested in a visitor that gave united states contracts to sign and we all signed the contracts, making it a legitimate business.
"Now all branches of the company take been close downward and we don't know where the CEO of the visitor is. Our investment capital has been trapped since November 2020 and there is nowhere to call back it.
"We telephone call on the EFCC and Interpol to immediately swing into activity, become Maxwell Odum arrested, and compel him to refund the investors' money. This is our demand."
The protesters, while accusing the anti-graft agency of conniving with the company, threatened to shut down the offices of the committee across the state if they fail to arrest and prosecute Odum within a reasonable time.
They maintained that a formal petition has been submitted to the Zonal office of the commission in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and vowed to mobilise all investors across the country to occupy the EFCC headquarters if they fail to accept action on the matter.
As well speaking, the Executive Director, Leadership and Citizens Development Centre, Comrade Enefaa GeorgeWill likewise defendant the anti-graft agency of conniving with the company. therefore threatened to mobilise other investors across the country and shut down the headquarters of the commission if they fail to abort him.
"Nosotros are saying we volition give the EFCC the benefit of dubiety, though nosotros have been enjoying a fraternity relationship with the zonal function of the EFCC in Port Harcourt before this rumour came up.
"The rumour making the rounds, specially in Port Harcourt where the MBA role is located, is that there is cipher investors can exercise, and that all the noises we are making are only the usual Nigerian drama and that MBA has bought over EFCC headquarters and that there is nothing we can do.
"Nosotros are saying afterward giving EFCC reasonable time, if they do not arrest and prosecute Maxwell Odum, we will be left with no other choice only to close down the EFCC headquarters," he said.
Some Nigerians had invested in the company considering of some promotional publications on major news outlets in the state.
The company was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission and the Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering.
